Our Children Also Enjoy Sport Outside of School
We always strive to encourage the children to have a love of sport and physical activity and encourage them to share their success at external activities with their peers in school. Here are some of the comments from our children:
- ‘I have been tumbling for 9 months and in March 2017 I qualified for the N.D.P semi finals in Birmingham. N.D.P stands for National Development Plan. This required me to compete in 3 different runs made up of various tumbling moves specified by the British Gymnastics Board. I train 4 times a week at DCGC; with this training I concentrate on the technique of each move and power. In Birmingham I was nervous at this was my first competition in a large arena. I went out there and did my best ensuring that my runs were good. My coach was pleased with my performance and I qualified 1st for the finals to be held in July.

- I am 7 years old and I go to Zazz Dance Studio. I go every Friday, I have achieved 7 trophies and certificates. I do tap, jazz, ballet, disco, ballroom and cheerleading.’
- ‘Since February I have been taking part in karate lessons, I do this at Sherurn Community Centre. I am on my orange belt and really enjoying myself and it keeps me fit and healthy.’
