FISCH
The children in Dragonfly Class took part in a 12 week FISCH (Family Initiative Supporting Children’s Health) programme. Through a mixture of physical activities and classroom based sessions they learnt all about how to lead an active lifestyle and how to eat healthily.
The children were amazed, and rather shocked, when they discovered how much sugar was found in their everyday foods. Their enthusiasm to promote healthy eating led to them designing a healthy breakfast club menu. The FISCH leaders were so impressed with the children’s work that they offered to run a free breakfast session for the pupils and their parents, so that the children could show them what they had learnt.
As these pictures show we had an amazing turn out, the support of parents and carers was greatly appreciated – breakfast was delicious and extremely healthy! We were given certificates for being ‘Healthy Breakfast Champions’.
