I have worked in Education for 24 years having held the post of Head of Department, Assistant Headteacher Assistant Principal, Deputy Headteacher; as well as Teacher. I have spent the majority of career working in challenging secondary schools & academies.

Having had previous experience of Governance in the Secondary Phase, I became a LA Governor of Sherburn Hill Primary School in 2005. I continued as Governor in the Federation between Sherburn Village and Sherburn Hill Primary schools and on into the amalgamated school formed in 2015.

I am passionate about education and became a governor to put something back into education; I believe that education offers children the opportunity to build their own futures. I benefited from a positive school experience and want the children of Sherburn Village and Sherburn Hill to have the opportunities in life that education has given me.
